Lecture Series | Alex Colville

  • Jones Auction House 122 Prince William Street Saint John, NB, E2L 2B6 Canada (map)

Sarah Jones, Curator of Jones Contemporary and Jones Auction House, presents an evening talk about Canadian artist, Alex Colville (1920-2013). We will consider Colville’s careful and sometimes disquieting approach to composition, his exploration of a sense of suspended time, unnerving tranquility, and the human gaze, and how his work fits in with the broader Canadian art historical context of the twentieth century.
